An ancient treatment that is very relaxing in it's own right.
Ear candling was used by many ancient societies across the world, including the Hopi indians, after whom the treatment is named.
The candle is a hollow tube made from cotton, bees wax, honey and some herbs, which is placed in the hear and lit. It produces a gentle suction and warmth within the ear, acompanied by a soft crackling sound.
As well as being extremely relaxing, this pain free treatment can help the following conditions:
Tinnitus
Glue Ear
Problems with the sinuses
Painful ears when flying or diving
Ear ache
Catarrh
Hay fever
Rhinitis
Minieres disease
It can soften compacted ear wax and may also alleviate snoring in some cases.
The candles take around 10 minutes to burn down and treatment always includes both ears. The treatment is finished with a gentle facial massage to increase relaxation and lymphatic flow.
