+ CAM EXPO (24/10/2008 - 20:43:34)
Ok, so maybe I'm a little bit sad, but I LOVE going to these things. I'm off to Earls Court tomorrow with Mum to the Cam Expo. They're great for picking up cut price equipment and getting stuff for free! They're also a great place to find out about more training and qualifications.
There's some seminars to go to aswell, but I think all the one's I'm interested in are on Sunday, which is a shame. But never mind, there'll be plenty more of these things to go to.
Was a little while ago now. I guess I've been a little slack in updating things. Sorry! Anyway, I am now fully qualified to level 4 in sports and remedial massage. So, for now my training is done. Now it's time to put into practice what I've been training for. Then I can train some more!!
Not really relevant to massage, but I've entered the Race for Life again this year. I think this will be my sixth race. Due to injury, I've had to walk the last two or three, but I intend to run it again this year. I've got myself back in the gym and I'm sure, touch wood, that I'll be well prepared come race day. Of course I'm looking for sponsorship for the race, as this is what it's all about - raising money for Cancer Research UK. So, please vistit my sponsorship page and help me reach my target of £100.

Well, nearly. It's only a few days away after all. I'd like to wish you all a very merry one.
We all have people who are impossible to buy pressies for, but here's an idea for you. Why not treat them to a massage or an ear candling treatment?
Please feel free to contact me via this site, or any other way you have access to if you'd like to treat someone this Christmas.
This weekend will bring week two of my sports massage course. Can't wait! I've got lots of practice booked in this week as I'm off work. Trying to fill some of my time off with clients who don't mind a little bit of discomfort, so long as it's going to make them feel better in the long run.
So, if you fancy having some of that tension worked out of your legs or back, give me a shout. I'll be happy to oblige. Fantastic rates available as I'm still training.
Spent this weekend in a room by the athletics track at Oxford uni for the start of my sports massage course. Having practiced on other students and playing guineapig for them too, I'm certain that I'm going to love it! Having said that, I've got sore bits on both my thighs and also on my back. Ouch!!!
When a client tells you that they're sleeping better, that their aches and pains are diminishing, that they can move more freely and it's because you've helped their body to heal itself....that's really satisfying.
I just can't learn enough fast enough! September's a long way off and I want to learn more already. So, on 13 August I'm going on a course to learn how to use Hopi ear candles with three people I met on my massage course. We're all travelling down to London to be taught by a lady who's written a book on the subject. I found it on Amazon! Should be very interesting and another treatment that I'll be able to offer you all.
I received my acceptance onto the BTEC Professional Diploma in Sports and Remedial Massage today. That is such good news! I'm really looking forward to getting started on that. 15 September is the first day. It's going to be a lot of hard work, but oh so worth it, I'm sure.
